Not Everyone Had Big Hair

Often times we see little white hats on women from the 18th century and although this was the norm when ladies were at home they wore their hair in buns, half up / half down (as in photo) or in braids. Usually they were done elborately as this was the sign of a lady. Moral women did not where makeup so this was their way of looking "finished".
